Gladys and Stripey: Two little fish on one BIG adventure, Michele Gierck’s first children's picture book, has been going swimmingly since its release. Robyn Williams, host of the Science Show on Radio National, recently interviewed Michele about the story. (Spoiler alert - he thinks the book is delightful, and a wonderful way of introducing kids to science.)

The book featured in the Wilderness Society's Wilderness Journal #27 in the lead up to Nature Book Week. And you can also read a fab review of Gladys and Stripey by author and blogger, Dr Helen Edwards. If you prefer socials, why not check out the NEW Gladys and Stripey Facebook page.

Public libraries can order copies of Gladys and Stripey through James Bennett or  ALS Library Supplies. 

This unique children's picture book, has earned high praise from educators, ecologists, community environment groups, people who love native fish, and the kids who have been fortunate enough to have experienced this story.

Eltham Bookshop on Saturday 7 Oct, was just the place to celebrate Love Your Bookshop Day, AND, the month-long Birrarung RIVERFEST.

In September, Michele read Gladys and Stripey at Darebin Creek, for Nature Book Week, before kids & adults explored the creek and learnt all about the FISH LADDER.

As part of Nature Book Week, Michele spoke to Native Fish Australia (Vic), and an array or different community groups.

Gladys and Stripey made their first major public appearance at the recent Native Fish Forum in Dubbo, 3 May - 5 May. They were warmly welcomed by the native fish community, from scientists to fishers. An image of book cover even made it up on the big screen!

Saturday 29 April Michele presented at Patterson Lakes Library on Memoir Writing. 

In late February,  Michele, along with Scientist John, presented her soon-to-be released book, Gladys and Stripey... to educators at the Banyule & Nillumbik Teachers' Environment Network. It was an inspiring event. Thanks to all who attended.
